We are recruiting an Assistant Accountant to take on the role as the Management Accountant, within the friendly and supportive team! The organisation employs over 250 people, across 3 business areas and provides free care and support to those in the community who have a life-limiting illness as well as their families.
The accounts job as the management accountant:
- The job as the Management Accountant is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team and support the Finance Manager in ensuring that the Charity’s financial and accounting procedures are fit for purpose, in line with all relevant legalities, to ensure that all income and expenditure is appropriately accounted for across the charity
- The role of the Management Accountant is in time, to produce accurate Management Accounts
- To assist the Finance Manager in the production of forecasts and budgets and to assist in the year end process
- Balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Support the team in producing regular and ad hoc analysis as requested to aid timely and accurate decision making
- Support the Finance Manager to maximising income collection of monies owing to the organisation
- Responsible for accurately recording and reporting on Income
- Line manage the Assistant Management Accountant
- Ensuring timely and accurate inputs to Oracle NetSuite
- Support the production of regular and adhoc, accurate and timely management information needed to aid timely and intelligent decision making
The ideal candidate:
- Ideally good experience in Accounting ideally management accounting experience, this is desirable but not essential
- Good understanding/experience of balance sheet reconciliations - journals & prepayments, accruals
- AAT studier or Part-Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or CIPFA) or qualified by experience
- Good Excel, Word
- Able to work to deadlines
- Able to prioritise work
- Able to work as a team & supervise others
- Supportive and helpful
- VAT advantageous
- Background in AP/AR/Bank Recs
