Vardey Recruitment is partnering with a stable, dynamic and entrepreneurial business located in Cirencester, Gloucester - the historic capital of the Cotswolds. We are recruiting for a Part-Time Financial Controller to join the company on a permanent basis for circa 2 to 3 days per week.
The Part-Time Financial Controller will lead the finance and administration team and work closely with the Directors to help manage the company finances. The Part-Time Financial Controller will also advise on financial and business strategy together with undertaking director renumeration planning. In this key position you will manage a small team and provide financial explanations to the Directors. Duties of the role
- Supervision and lead the small finance function.
- Creating and management of month end management accounts.
- Overseeing financial day to day processing and data including staff expenses, petty cash, invoices and corporate card expenditure.
- Plan and agree with directors remuneration in the most tax efficient manner including maintaining personal tax deductions and control accounts.
- Value monthly work in progress, oversee monthly invoicing.
- Production of statutory accounts and corporate tax calculations and reporting.
- Review cashflow forecasts and treasury deposits, providing recommendations to directors.
- Process, report and pay director loan repayments to bank.
- Attend board meetings reporting on management accounts, forecasts, budgets, contributing to the development of business strategy and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
- Supervision of quarterly VAT returns and control accounts.
- Reporting and timely payment of taxes including corporation tax, directors’ personal tax.
- Maintain, review and update staff profit share scheme, calculations and make payments.
- Prepare and process directors interest on loan accounts including CT61 reporting.
- Payroll and Pensions - Ensure governance of pension schemes. Oversee corporate and Director pension schemes, company insurances and all corporate risks are managed.
- Advise and manage process of taking on new directors and retiring directors including company valuations and compliance with legislation.
The ideal candidate
- Qualified Accountant, or Qualified by Experience - Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Financial Director
- CIMA, ACA or ACCA or QBE or equivalent
- Strong Excel
- ideally knowledge of corporate and personal taxation
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Analytical, critical thinking skills, and demonstrates commerciality in strategic planning.
- Technically a strong accountant, articulate and innovative; an influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
