Interim Project Financial Controller - Under Offer

Remote/Hybrid - Initial travel to North Wiltshire for set up | £60,000-£70,000 DOE (4 or 5 days per week)

Vardey Recruitment is exclusively recruiting for an Interim Financial Controller to join this PE backed business for a period of 6 months on a project basis. Working closely with the Group FD together you will integrate and consolidate the new business into the group to include Finance, IT and HR processes. This project based Interim Financial Controller job will suit a technically yet commercial minded Accountant ideally from an SME background seeking an interim Financial Controller job. Benefits include very flexible and hybrid working. The Head office is based in North Wiltshire (Malmesbury) initially ad hoc travel to this site will be required for set up/start once established flexible remote working. 

Interim Project Financial Controller Job highlights:
  • The Interim Financial Controller, will work with the Group Finance Director and senior stakeholders to improve the efficiency and quality of group reporting.
  • Expanding the budgeting/ forecasting process, building appropriate models and further developing cashflow forecasting.
  • Implement synchronisation of accounting periods across the group, ensuring integrity of the financial statements and being a key contact to external auditors.
  • Enhancing balance sheet reconciliations and implementing improvements in control procedures.
  • Involved with the design and implementation of systems and process improvements as well as ad hoc projects.
  • Support payroll process and expense management tools.
The Interim Project Financial Controller job role will interest:
  • Qualified accountant ideally with at least 5 years post-qualification experience and having worked in an SME previously.
  • Experience of accounting in international entities would be advantageous.
  • A technically sound accountant, able to work in a complex environment with good knowledge of FRS102 & IFRS
  • Demonstrable experience of consolidation accounting and managing internal controls.
  • Experience of implementing improvements in accounting and operational systems along with use of analytical tools to provide insight and commentary.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering financial or systems projects
  • Advanced excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Sage 50 experience is desirable and SQL or Power BI experience would be advantageous.
In return:
  • Basic salary between £60,000-£70,000.

  • This Job could be on a 4 days week basis - part-time or 5 days full-time.
  • Hybrid working – some face to face contact with the FD who lives in Hampshire and initial ad hoc travel to North Wiltshire - Malmesbury area a few days per week only at start!
