Vardey Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an owner managed food business based on the Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset borders in the search for their Buyer/Head of Procurement.
The company are based just outside of Mere in Wiltshire and are a highly successful and ‘family run” food business. The purchasing/procurement job reports directly to the MD and will lead the procurement process and develop a small team. 

Head Of Purchasing Job duties:

• Provide Procurement support and price negotiations for both goods and services within a food distribution environment
• Use analytical skills to provide forecasting
• Managing supply chain and stock control
• Place and expedite purchase orders as required according to business needs
• Support operations by resolving any queries regarding deliveries
• Escalate and resolve supplier queries with suppliers
• Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Teamwork

Who should apply?

• Purchasing Experience ideally within the food industry - can train
• Proven ability to work well with others at all organisational levels, to organise and prioritise, and to participate on cross-functional teams
• A high standard of IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• A high standard of verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Assertive / time management skills / attention to detail
• Experience in Food Procurement and Supply Chain processes highly desirable
• Experience in ERP systems
