Vardey Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an owner managed food business based on the Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset borders in the search for their Buyer/Head of Procurement.
The company are based just outside of Mere in Wiltshire and are a highly successful and ‘family run” food business. The purchasing/procurement job reports directly to the MD and will lead the procurement process and develop a small team.
Head Of Purchasing Job duties:
- Provide Procurement support and price negotiations for both goods and services within a food distribution environment
- Use analytical skills to provide forecasting
- Managing supply chain and stock control
- Place and expedite purchase orders as required according to business needs
- Support operations by resolving any queries regarding deliveries
- Escalate and resolve supplier queries with suppliers
- Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Teamwork
Who should apply?
- Purchasing Experience ideally within the food industry - can train
- Proven ability to work well with others at all organisational levels, to organise and prioritise, and to participate on cross-functional teams
- A high standard of IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- A high standard of verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Assertive / time management skills / attention to detail
- Experience in Food Procurement and Supply Chain processes highly desirable
- Experience in ERP systems
