Vardey Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a large company in the Basingstoke area, in Hampshire who are recruiting a Senior Credit Controller to join the team.
Reporting to the Credit Manager you will be working in a close- knit team and hold responsibility for managing customer accounts, ensuring that cash is collected and accounts are settled to agreed terms to maximize cashflow. You will issue monthly statements and reminder letters, ensuring bad debt losses are mitigated and overdue debt is kept minimal. Part of the role will be to send direct debit letters and assist the cash team with processing DD collections. You will also be expected to act on your own initiative and review and set up credit limits, identify areas of risk by aged debt analysis. The role will be working across departments raising account issues or impending debt collection referring accounts to collection agents for debt collection.
Job duties
- Conduct regular review of credit limits for existing customers using online credit references and trading history, suggesting appropriate credit limits to be applied.
- Ensure customers settle outstanding accounts to agreed terms to maximize cashflow.
- Conduct Aged debt analysis to identify areas of risk, payment performance trends and to report on cashflow forecasting.
- Issue monthly statements to customers.
- Manage the ‘Dunning process’ to ensure reminder letters through to final notice letters are issued in a timely manner.
- Work with the Sales Teams to detail account issues or impending debt collection/ legal action.
- Refer accounts to Collection agents for debt collection, handling all related correspondence.
- Send direct debit letters and address all related queries. Assist the Cash Apps Team with processing Direct Debit collections at the earliest date in line with agreed trading terms.
- Manage the held order process ensuring daily communication to confirm orders held/released.
- Provide regular detailed and informative credit management reporting.
Ideal candidate
- Experience of both commercial and consumer credit control (advantageous)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- ICM qualification (advantageous)
- This job will suit an experienced senior credit controller who has a strong background in credit control ideally experienced in collecting payments from both large and smaller clients.
