Job as the Financial Controller:

The ‘Financial Controller will play a key role within the Finance Team supporting the Finance Director in building and developing a Finance Function “Fit for Purpose”. The Finance team’s vision is to provide excellent customer care to both its internal and external customers.

  • Manage external company in the production of the Company’s Management accounts
  • To control the annual budget and reforecast process
  • The management of weekly and monthly cashflows
  • Creation and management of financial models
  • Supporting the Finance Director on strategic planning
  • VAT, Payroll, tax and statistical returns to HMRC (and any others)
  • Responsible for cash Payment and Receipt processes
  • Managing annual audit
  • Financial educator for the business
  • Training & coaching of the team
  • Working with Company directors on projects
  • Develop and control company’s accounting rules.
  • Management of customer invoicing process & managing financial system
  • To accurately record all assets and liabilities on the company’s balance sheet. This includes calculation of WIP and Project accounting.
  • To undertake monthly reconciliations backed up by evidence to the validity of the figures.
  • To identify to the directors any balances of concern
  • To proactively work with the directors to manage the balance sheet.
  • Support directors in creating and managing the company’s Risk Register

Requirements:
  • Ideally a fully qualified accountant ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent - QBE's with relevant experience will be considered.

  • The successful Finance Manager – Financial Controller will be able to demonstrate experience in both implementing rigorous financial control and reporting coupled with the ability to build successful working relationships with key stakeholders throughout the range of business activities.
  • An Accountant/Finance Manager/Financial Controller who has experience of working in a small business with "hands on experience" and happy to roll their sleeves up.
  • A competent and ambitious Financial Controller/Accountant who can display strong communication skills.
  • A finance professional who can think outside the box and offer solutions, and ideas with a commercial outlook.
  • A Finance Manager/Financial Controller who is keen to help grow a business and be able to work in partnership with the stakeholders
  • Ideally the candidate will be able to start at short notice either on a contract/temporary basis or permanent can be discussed

In return:
  • £55-£60,000 depending on experience/qualifications.
