We are recruiting for an ambitious Financial Controller to be the No1 in finance and support the leadership team reporting directly to the MD. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to ensure day to day operations are running efficiently while maintaining an excellent level of financial control. Responsible for month end close and reporting to internal stakeholders and the wider group.  The Financial Controller will act as a key driver and business partner to the MD, Sales and Operational teams. This Financial Controller Job is a crucial role for the continued success of this ambitious Hampshire company. 

Job highlights:

• Full control of the established yet growing accounts department across 2 locations
• Prepare and review of monthly management accounts for 2 companies
• Sign-off of all balance sheet reconciliations
• Reporting to the group via the consolidation system - oracle hyperion
• Review internal controls, financial procedures, develop, implement and maintain
• Prepare and take ownership of annual budgeting/ strategic plan and monthly forecasting
• Development, supervision and mentoring of accounts team - inspire, lead and support
• Presentation and preparation of monthly board reports to include variance analysis and commentary
• Deliver and presentation of real time KPI's, sales reporting, stock reporting, daily snap shots
• Prepare half and full year PLC submission (tax schedules), supplier payments reporting to PLC
• Acquisition accounting & IT management and control
• Monthly cashflow reporting
• Working with the leadership team to run the business - providing financial information to support business decisions
• Part of the key leadership team - drive forward and attend weekly management meetings
• Review of the purchase ledger and full ownership of the GL

The role will interest:

• An ambitious qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Proven Financial Controller, Finance Manager seeking a step forward or maybe a Head of Finance/Financial Director seeking a role within an growing SME
• Technically strong accountant - possibly practice trained with a commercial flair
• Strong experience in management accounting budgeting, forecasting 
• Drive and tenacity
• Able to manipulate, interpret and analyse financial data
• Business partnering skills
• Excellent IT knowledge
• Good understanding of FRS/IFRS and UK tax law inc. VAT
• Desirable SQL and BI reporting a clear advantage, or/and Oracle Hyperion
• Hands on approach
• Ability to travel to other sites including London on an ad hoc basis
